Eric is an experienced private equity and special situations investor. Previously Eric was Managing Director of The Carlyle Group, focusing on North American middle market buyouts and credit investments across a wide variety of industries. Previously, he worked in restructuring advisory at Evercore Partners and in investment banking at Salomon Smith Barney and its successor Citigroup Global Markets. He graduated from Harvard College with an AB in Applied Mathematics and Economics. Eric currently serves as a Director of DRT Holdings.
Chuck’s professional experience spans more than 30 years of both private equity investing and operational leadership roles, including Chief Executive Officer roles in four companies. Prior to joining Mill Rock Capital, Chuck was Chief Executive Officer of Towne Park, the largest valet parking company in the US, where he led about 15,000 associates. Chuck began his career as a product manager for Colgate-Palmolive and spent the following 30 years in private equity, specialty manufacturing and several other industries. He currently serves as Executive Chairman and Director of Tandym Group and is a Director of Venture Metals+. He graduated from Bowdoin College and earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Adi's experience in credit, special situations and private equity spans nearly 15 years, multiple industries and substantially all facets of investing. Prior to co-founding Mill Rock, Adi was a Partner at Gamut Capital, a middle market private equity firm. Previously, Adi was a Senior Investment Analyst at Mason Capital, where he focused on distressed and special situations investments across industries, including general industrials, chemicals and energy. Prior to joining Mason, he worked at The Carlyle Group in the Carlyle Strategic Partners fund where he focused on debt and equity investments of middle-market companies. Prior to Carlyle, Adi worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Banking. He graduated from The George Washington University with a BBA in Finance. Adi is a Director of Asbury Carbons, DRT Holdings, Grammer Industries, Mill Rock Packaging Partners, Tandym Group and Venture Metals+. He also serves as Director of the Auschwitz Institute for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities.
Sharma’s industrial experience spans more than 30 years in various functional leadership roles, including quality, engineering, operations, procurement and supply chain management in the automotive and aerospace sectors. Prior to joining Mill Rock, Sharma served as Vice President of Metals and Strategy for Howmet Aerospace, a premier Tier 1 aerospace engine manufacturer. Previously, Sharma managed global raw material supply chains for Firth Rixson, GE Aerospace and Rolls-Royce plc, with responsibilities including managing commercial relationships and performance of a global supply base. Prior to that he held multiple engineering and operations leadership roles in metals and metal processing industries. Sharma has a graduate degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science from University of Florida, Gainesville. Sharma is a Director of DRT Holdings and Venture Metals+.
Bob’s career spans 35 years in executive leadership building global businesses and increasing shareholder value in the paper and packaging industry. He has extensive experience leading M&A, post-merger integration, business development, capital management, innovation, global supply chain management and operations. Prior to joining Mill Rock, Bob was President of the $7 billion global Consumer Packaging segment and a member of the leadership team at WestRock [NYSE: WRK], a $20 billion leading provider of paper and packaging solutions. During his career with WestRock and its predecessors MeadWestvaco and Mead Corporation, Bob held senior P&L leadership roles for various manufacturing and distribution businesses with operations spanning North America, Europe, Brazil, China, Asia Pacific and India. Bob earned a BS in Paper Science & Engineering from Miami University (Ohio), a MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton and an M.B.A. from Duke University, where he graduated with honors as a Fuqua Scholar. He currently serves as Vice Chairman and Director of Mill Rock Packaging and as a Director of EDT, LLC. Bob serves as President Emeritus of the Paper Science and Engineering Foundation at Miami University (Ohio). He also is Vice Chairman of the International Trade Advisory Committee for the State of Virginia and is a Director, former President and member of the Executive Committee of the Science Museum Foundation of Virginia. He has previously served on the advisory board of FM Global, a mutual insurance company. Bob has been active in industry associations including serving in various Director and Executive Committee leadership roles with the American Forest & Paper Association and The Technical Association of the Pulp & Paper Industry (TAPPI). He was named a TAPPI Fellow in 2016. He currently serves as a director for the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC).
Matt has more than 15 years’ experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity. Prior to joining Mill Rock, he was a Senior Vice President (Director) in the Investment Banking Department at Jefferies, advising on M&A and financing transactions. Prior to Jefferies, Matt served in roles of increasing responsibility at various investment banks, including Credit Suisse, Guggenheim and Nomura. At Mill Rock, he is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, due diligence, transaction execution and post-closing management. He is actively involved across Mill Rock’s portfolio. He graduated from The George Washington University with a BBA in Finance.
Prior to joining Mill Rock Capital, Eric spent 30 years progressing through senior sales and global business leadership roles at BetzDearborn as it was transformed through acquisition by Hercules, Ashland and Solenis. There, his experience was centered around specialty chemicals used in the paper, industrial water treatment and municipal water treatment markets. Eric’s roles included responsibility for the Global Hercules Functional Chemicals Division and the role of Vice President and Gneral Manager of the Solenis North American Pulp and Paper Chemical Division, with $600 million in revenue and more than 300 associates. He has extensive experience leading M&A, post-merger integration, business development, market innovation and commercial excellence. He currently serves as Director of Mill Rock Packaging Partners and as an advisor across the Mill Rock portfolio. Eric earned a BS in Paper Science & Engineering from Miami University and completed the Penn State Smeal College Executive Management Program. He is a past Vice President and current Audit Committee Chair of the Paper Science and Engineering Foundation at Miami University.
Ed’s experience spans more than 35 years growing global businesses in revenue, profitability and cash flow in the specialty chemicals, advanced materials, and industrial segments. Prior to joining Mill Rock, Ed led the successful spin-off of Ingevity Corporation from WestRock Company and served as President of Performance Chemicals until 2017. He began his career at MeadWestvaco Corporation in 1984 and became President of the MWV Specialty Chemicals Division in 2009. In this role, Ed achieved extraordinary business performance, doubling revenue from ~$500 million to ~$1 billion and more than quadrupling EBITDA. His prior roles at MeadWestvaco spanned the Construction Chemicals Group, Specialty Chemicals Division, Business Development and Polychemicals. He brings deep experience driving organic growth, accretive M&A, alliance development and targeted divestures. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University and completed the Wharton Executive Education Program in Financial/Business Management. Ed serves as Director of Asbury Carbons and Mill Rock Packaging Partners. He is active in professional, community and alma mater leadership endeavors, including Clemson’s Dean’s Leadership Circle (College of Engineering), the American Chemistry Council, Trident United Way, East Cooper Meal on Wheels, and the Charleston Regional Development Council.
Wayne has more than 40 years’ experience in global executive leadership of corporate and family-owned metal and manufacturing businesses. Prior to joining Mill Rock he served as Chief Executive Officer of PSF Mechanical, a family-owned design-and-build HVAC and plumbing contractor, and as Chief Executive Officer of Gopher Resources, a family-owned lead recycling company. He has successfully led multi-site global organizations as the President of Upstream at Noranda Aluminum, Chief Operating Officer of Century Aluminum, SVP Upstream of SUAL (Russia), Chief Operating Officer of Kennecott Utah Copper (Rio Tinto) and President of Primary Business at Kaiser Aluminum. A visionary and engaging leader, Wayne has a consistent record of implementing lean best practices and developing far-sighted and value accretive strategic plans. His skill set includes P&L management, hands-on operations improvement, strategic planning, HSE, sales, marketing and regulatory compliance. He has led successful turnarounds in both union and non-union environments. Wayne received a BS in Chemistry, cum laude, from Western Washington University and an MBA from Ohio University. Wayne is a Director of Venture Metals+.
Diane has more than 40 years’ experience in technology, research and development and procurement. Prior to joining Mill Rock she served as Director of Research and Development at Flint Group for over 15 years before assuming the role of Vice President of Global Procurement, where she served for more than 20 years. Following her tenure at Flint Group, Diane has consulted with numerous founder-owned businesses on procurement strategies and organizational development. In 2021, she assumed the role of Chief Procurement Officer of Mill Rock Packaging Partners. Diane has a strong background in M&A integration and synergy development and realization. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a BS in Printing and Marketing. Diane is a Director of Mill Rock Packaging Partners and a Board Advisor of Asbury Carbons.
Scott is the Chief Compliance Officer for Mill Rock Capital. He is also a Senior Principal Consultant on the Investment Adviser division delivery team at ACA Global, a leading governance, risk and compliance advisor in financial services. He works closely with the Mill Rock’s senior management team to develop, implement, and monitor policies necessary for compliance with state and federal law as well as the regulatory requirements of the firm. Scott was a director at Foreside Financial Group prior to its merger with ACA Global. Before Foreside, Scott served as a consultant with the regulatory consulting firm Armory Professional Services. Scott has also served as Vice President for Ares Management and CCO for AREA Property Partners, as well as had leading roles with Capital Markets Compliance, LLC, Securities Network LLC, World Group Securities, Inc., and NASD Regulation, Inc. Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from Berry College. Licensing/examinations: Series 7, 24, 66, 79, and SIE.
Chris’s experience in middle-market private equity spans nearly 25 years, multiple industries and substantially all facets of investing, including origination, execution and portfolio management. Prior to co-founding Mill Rock, Chris was a Partner at Gamut Capital, a middle market private equity firm. Previously, Chris was Managing Director at Harvest Partners, where he worked from 1999, focusing on middle market private equity investments across multiple industry verticals. Prior to joining Harvest Partners, he worked at Lehman Brothers in its Global Mergers and Acquisitions Group. His primary experience is in the industrial sector, with a particular emphasis on distribution, manufacturing, industrial and technical services, construction, building products and energy. He graduated from Dartmouth College with an AB in Economics and Government.
